Ashley Thistlethwaite

Registered Psychotherapist, Qualifying

Hi, my name is Ashley Thistlethwaite (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Valley Connections Counselling. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Western University, I went on to complete my Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

In my practice, I support adolescents and adults striving to navigate a broad range of challenges. Equipped with both personal and professional experience, I am acutely aware of the stigma and shame that accompanies mental health concerns. I am also sensitive to how difficult it is to ask for help during life’s more challenging moments.

As a psychotherapist, my work is rooted in providing clients with a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space that fosters healing. I am committed to establishing a collaborative relationship based on trust and respect wherein clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to share their story and embrace change. Being welcomed into the lives of clients and bearing witness to their resilience in the face of adversity is an immense privilege.

Outside of my clinical practice, I enjoy reading, relaxing in nature, and spending quality time with my loved ones (specifically, my dog Bodhi).

If you are interested in booking a complimentary consultation with me, I would invite you to please reach out to our clinic. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you. While the ground may feel unfamiliar at times, I am hopeful that our work together will lead you back to your truest self. In the words of Brené Brown, vulnerability is the path.
