Valley Connections Counselling
Connecting in life's valleys...
Kiara Panetta, BSc, MA, RP
Registered Psychotherapist
Lead Therapist
My name is Kiara Panetta (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist providing Counselling and Psychotherapy for Valley Connections Counselling in Burlington and Virtually.
It takes courage to reach out and ask for help but when you do, it’s important to find someone you connect with. My goal in therapy is to build a strong and supportive relationship, where clients feel safe to explore their concerns and work toward their goals. Through my experience, I’ve learned that people are incredibly resilient and that establishing healthy connection can begin the path to healing.
I work with adolescents and adults. I have a special interest in working with trauma, anxiety, disordered eating, body image issues, women’s issues, relationship issues, depression, stress, and self esteem. I welcome clients from the LGBTQ+ community and am also an approved provider through the NIHB (Non-Insured Health Benefits) program for First Nations clients.
I take a strengths-based approach to therapy and believe that the client is the expert of their story. I pull from a range of therapeutic approaches to address my clients’ needs including Relational-Cultural Therapy, Mindfulness, Attachment-based, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), The Gottman Method, Imago and Trauma-focused.
I’ve received training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), The Gottman Couples Method, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Imago Relationship Therapy, Trauma-Informed Mindfulness, and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence based therapy to help individuals heal from trauma. I completed my undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour (B.Sc.) and my master’s degree at Yorkville University in Counselling Psychology (M.A.C.P.). I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
If you are interested in working together, I provide free 30-minute consultations, to determine if this is the right fit for you. I offer daytime appointments from Tuesday-Thursday. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at admin@valleyconnectionscounselling.ca. I look forward to supporting you on your path to wellness.
Kiara's services are eligible for insurance coverage under health benefit plans that cover the services of Registered Psychotherapists.
