Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Child, Adult, Couples and Family Therapist

Hi, I’m Madison and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), providing Counselling and Psychotherapy for Valley Connections Counselling in Burlington and Virtually. I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’ve found yourself here, you’re probably looking for support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family. I know that reaching out for therapy isn’t always easy, and finding a therapist who feels like the right fit is an important decision. My hope is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, and where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported from the very beginning.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens through safe, authentic relationships grounded in genuine human connection. Life can be incredibly difficult at times, and I don’t believe anyone should have to navigate those challenges alone. Together, we’ll work to better understand your experiences, recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build on your existing strengths, and develop the insight, skills, and confidence needed to move toward the life and relationships you want to build.

My approach to therapy is strengths-based, collaborative, relational, and integrative. Because every person, couple, and family is different, I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. Rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms or finding quick solutions, I aim to understand what’s beneath the surface—including how your relationships, experiences, nervous system, and environment may be influencing the ways you think, feel, and respond.

I hold a Master of Relational and Family Therapy (MRFT) from the University of Guelph, where my specialized training was grounded in relational, systemic, attachment-based, and developmentally informed approaches to therapy. Alongside my graduate education and clinical training, I bring more than ten years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families across educational, community mental health, and therapeutic settings.

I have a particular passion for supporting children, teens, young adults, women, and parents. With children, I incorporate creativity and therapeutic play, recognizing that play is one of the primary ways children communicate, process experiences, and make sense of the world around them. I also enjoy supporting teens through the unique challenges of adolescence. When working with children and teens, I see parents and caregivers as an essential part of the therapeutic process, partnering with families to better understand behaviours, strengthen connection, and build confidence in supporting their child. I also have special interest in helping young adults and women navigate anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, relationships, identity, parenthood, and the many changes that life can bring.

One of the things I love most about being a therapist is witnessing the quiet moments when something begins to make sense in a new way. Sometimes it’s a child finding a way to navigate the next big feeling, a teenager realizing they aren’t alone in what they’re experiencing, a parent beginning to understand the meaning behind a behaviour, or an adult beginning to see themselves with greater capability and compassion. These moments are powerful because they often become the starting point for meaningful and lasting change.

While therapy often involves making space for life’s hardest moments, I also believe there is room for hope, humour, laughter, and celebration along the way. My goal is not only to help you feel supported in the present, but to help you leave therapy with greater confidence, stronger relationships, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Whatever brings you here, I’d be honoured to meet you. I offer complimentary 30-minute consultations so we can get to know one another, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. I look forward to meeting you.
