Sliding Scale options
Hi, I’m Kamila Naqvi (she/her).
I believe that the body carries stories the mind cannot always articulate, and that healing often begins not with answers, but with presence. By slowing down, listening, and staying with discomfort rather than trying to fix or escape it, something deeper is allowed to unfold. I hold that meaning is not something we find ready-made, but something we shape through how we meet life’s inevitabilities such as uncertainty, longing, grief, and love. I value compassion over certainty, curiosity over judgment, and connection over control. I do not believe we are broken. I believe we are shaped, and that with safety, attunement, and time, we can come home to ourselves.
I am a Psychotherapy Intern working toward registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I believe everyone deserves a safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive space to feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether you are navigating life transitions, relational challenges, emotional overwhelm, or a desire for deeper self-understanding, I offer a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.
Before entering psychotherapy, I worked as a Chartered Professional Accountant, educator, and mentor, and collaborated with NGOs on community and wellness initiatives. These experiences continue to inform my work, allowing me to hold both structure and compassion, curiosity and care. My clinical training at the Toronto Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling Education emphasizes relational, experiential, and body-based approaches, shaping how I work with clients.
I draw from modalities including Imago Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Neuroscience-Informed Therapy, and somatic approaches to nervous system regulation. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, relational concerns, family and divorce transitions, life changes, attachment challenges, self-esteem difficulties, burnout, and questions of meaning or identity.
I work with individuals from a wide range of cultural and generational backgrounds and strive to create a space that honors your unique lived experience. Being fluent in both English and Urdu, I’m also able to offer therapy in a language that may feel more comfortable and familiar for some clients.
If you are interested in working together, I provide free 30-minute consultations, to determine if this is the right fit for you. I offer virtual, daytime and evening appointments from Tuesday-Thursday. If you are in financial need, please inquire about my sliding scale.
