Valley Connections Counselling
Connecting in life's valleys...
Maria Ostapenko, BA, MEd, MA (cand), RP (Qual.)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Psychotherapy Intern
Youth & Adult Therapist

My name is Maria Ostapenko (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I also hold a Master of Education and a B.A. in Psychology.
I truly believe that our well-being comes from finding balance in life and having a strong mind-body connection. I also support the idea that being in touch with nature can boost your happiness and maintain inner peace. My approach is based on building trust and acceptance, while offering you a safe and welcoming space to explore complex emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
I would not be the person I am today without the support I received from counseling. Like many of us, I have been through my share of tough times, including the challenges of being a parent and dealing with postpartum depression. This journey has made me value the difference a caring counselor can make and has fueled my passion for helping others make a positive change in their life.
On a personal level, I speak Russian, Spanish, and English, enjoy hiking, and learning about art and culture. I respect and honor your unique background and experiences because they are a big part of what makes you, you.
Let's start this journey to healing together with a complimentary 30-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit. Together, we can work on reestablishing balance and setting practical, achievable goals.
