Canadian Certified Counsellor
Individual, Couples, & Family Therapist
It takes remarkable bravery to reach out and whatever brings you here, I want you to know that you made an important decision, and you are not alone.
Whether you are struggling a little or a lot, I am ready to get in your corner and help you navigate the challenges you are facing. As you invite me into your story, I look forward to helping you hear yourself more fully and explore your concerns without any fear of judgement. I will be a person who believes the very best in you, I will keep your secrets, and I will strive to offer you the tools you need to move towards flourishing. My commitment is to help you find hope again, to bear witness to your pain without flinching, and to work towards your goals together.
Therapy is not a "one size fits all" situation, and while using evidence-based methods is vital for addressing emotional, relational, and mental health concerns, nothing is more critical to effective therapy than the relationship between the therapist and the client. As your therapist, I am able to draw from various evidence-based therapeutic approaches to find the right fit for you, and my foremost priority is to build a strong foundation of support, developing a relationship that allows you the freedom to safely explore your concerns. If you are pursuing therapy for you and your partner, or seeking family therapy - I offer a rich experience in learning how to have meaningful communication and safe arguments, how to reconcile relational connections and heal from ruptures in the relationships that are most important to you.
Over the past eighteen years, my experience has included non-profit work with adolescents, young adults, couples and families. These experiences add a richness to my life that can only be described as a beautiful and chaotic masterpiece of laughter, tears, sweat, and refining the art of truly listening. I have an unwavering commitment to my clients’ wellbeing, and because of this, I engage with regular education to improve my skills and stay current. In addition to my formal education, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Business and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I have received supplementary training in suicide prevention and suicide intervention with both Living Works and the Canadian Mental Health Association. I also hold level one Imago Couples Therapy certification and have received training in Internal Family Systems. I am passionate about my clients gaining tools to better fight their daily battles, and therefore prioritize providing psychoeducation that is relevant and useful for each individual client.
If you are interested in exploring your concerns with me, please book a free 30-minute consultation to ask any questions about therapy, and check with our therapeutic fit. I offer virtual, phone, and in person sessions at the Burlington site. I look forward to hearing from you, and beginning together a journey to restore hope and increase self-awareness in your life.
